This is a project I started working on a while ago. It uses the wii guitar hero controller and a PD patch so you can really play music. I got the idea from a Make magazine article. They used Max/MSP, which I do not have, and they don't make a linux version anyway. So I used the next best thing, PD.The wiimotes are pretty easy to connect to your computer, as long as you have bluetooth. I followed this tutorial to get it connected to my ubuntu system. Once you have that working you will need a wiimote external for PD. I use wiilib.
I have the PD patch available on github. You can download it and try it yourself. The sound selection is pretty weak right now as my PD synth skills are still in development. Branch it and modify it, you are free to share the code with anyone. If you do something cool with it send me a message and tell me about it.
